Worth an upgrade from an r9 270x to a 970?

It is a significant upgrade (3 tiers above the 270X) and is a good match for the 4570.

something seems off with that list. I thought it was proven that the RX 480 was on pair with the GTX 1060, and even surpasses in some games.
But why is the GTX 980 in the same tier as a 1060? A gTX 970 is lower than a 1060 as well? just doesn't make sense to me.

I get that, but again, the RX 480 and GTX 1060 should be on the same level. However a GTX 970 should not be under a GTX 1060, that's just wrong, in my opinion. Also, it's missing the GTx 1050, but has the RX 460 and 470, which is strange. oh well, it's off topic.
That card you are getting is $150, used? i don't know about that, unless you can test it out and have some type of guarantee, seems a bit shady to me.

I seem to remember that when the 1060s came out and were benchmarked they were faster than the 970s. So it makes sense to me they'd be in a higher tier. I mean if you had your choice for the same price, a new 1060 or a new 970, would you choose the 970? I wouldn't.
