Friends,

looking for a replacement, as my old Slverstone is going bad right now.

spec of my PC:

fx 8350 /w small OC
Asus m5a99x evo r2
hyper 212
16 GB ram
2* 128GB SSD
SLI gtx950

located in Canada, looking at a price tag of 100$.
Is a good quality 550W enough?

option 1. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151119
option 2. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182356
option 3. http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095
option 4. (probably the worst) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139148

Heard that the CXM serie is not as bad as the CX, is it true?

Thanks!
-Francis

edit: Modular is NOT mandatory, since I have a whole lot of space in my Fractal Design R4 case. Open to suggestion and other sellers (ncix, amazon(CA),direct canada, etc)

The new CX (450, 550 and 650) are good quality. The older (430, 500 and 750) are not.

Of the options presented the SeaSonic G550 is the best of the bunch and a quality PSU.

550W is perfect. You've got a setup that can pull ~300W max theoretical (and likely much less in day to day use).

Quality PSUs for a decent price are hard to come by in Canada.

If you're interested in fully modular, the EVGA SuperNOVA G2 550W is $99.99 after a $10 rebate:

A little cheaper (yet still quality option) would be the SeaSonic S12II 520W @ $75

But all in all, I'd go for either the SeaSonic G you...

Went with the SeaSonic 550W G serie. Thanks for the prompt reply.

Yeah, prices are crazy high for a good quality PSU here, compared to the US.

Thanks again,
Francis
