as per title.

Any major difference between the ddr4 speeds - 2400, 2666, 3000?

How does it compare to ddr3 1333/1600, noticeable performance increase?

Thanks.

Well..obviously faster RAM is a bit faster.
But you can't really compare 1:1, because the whole rest of the system needs to be changed.
CPU and motherboard.

Don't change the rest of it just in a quest for faster RAM.

I suppose this is two questions. How the ddr4 speeds compare, and generally how ddr4 compares to ddr3.

Building a new system, just wanted to know what's what in relation to ddr4 - there is a lot of ddr4 kits out there, probably too much. Seen some nicely priced ddr4 2400 kits, but was curious if ddr4 3000 was worth the price premium?

Building a new system...buy the fastest RAM that the motherboard handles and what fits in the budget.
For some uses, 3000 is significantly better than 2400. For other uses, you would never see any difference.
