Hello,

ASUS H170 PRO GAMING Motherboard
Intel i5 7600 CPU
No External GPU
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000)
EVGA 650 BQ 110-BQ-0650-V1 80+ BRONZE 650W Semi Modular

I have worked through the checklist.

Power cables seem to be connected correctly
Have removed and reseated the CPU
No Thermal Paste anywhere but where it should be
No additional screws or plugs
Have tried 1 DIMM, 2 DIMMS in the correct slots

The unit LEDs turn on. No video output to the monitor (the monitor says no inputs found).
All Fans power on. And nothing else happens.

I'm using a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse that share 1 USB receiver. And connecting an HP monitor through HDMI.

I know I have to update the BIOS for CPU compatibility but I'd assume I need to see something on screen before this can happen.

I did not see a beep speaker to install.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Unless BIOS 3016 is on it now it wont post. It needs this BIOS on it to support that CPU

Core i5-7600 (3.5GHz, 4C, L3:6M, Intel HD 600 series, 65W, rev.B0) ALL 3016

Look at the sticker on the mobo. If the last 4 numbers arent 3016, it needs a BIOS update

Unless the mobo supports flashback you cant update the BIOS unless it's going. You'll have to either buy or borrow a CPU it supports then flash it

Or take it to a shop and ask them to do it

So the only way to update the BIOS is to have a Skylake chip installed?

The motherboard is correctly installed on the standoffs. All standoffs line up with screw holes.

Yup unless BIOS 3016 is on it now it wont post / do anything

Would the CrashFree BIOS 3 Utility work in this situation? Or does it need a compatible CPU?
