I cant play certain games that I want to like dragons dogma. Whenever I attempt to my PC just shuts off I've tried reapplying thermal paste and I dont think I screwed up on it. I dont have a lack of fans because I run 3 not including the CPU cooler and there is no dust build up. Im not overclocking either. I have no Idea what to do but it shouldn't reach 90 degrees Celsius playing a game like that. Thanks for the help guys!

There shouldn't be any overheating with that cooler on the CPU. As Colethelion321 says, it could be a faulty motherboard.

I'd recommend taking a screenshot of your CPU temps, wattages etc to see if it is the CPU or if it's the motherboard. HWMONITOR is good for this.

So if it were the motherboard would it just be an issue with bios or would it be that the motherboard itself is faulty and if so would everything else work on it or would there be other indicators to a faulty motherboard? and the program im using to monitor is core temp 1.5

Ill take some screenshots of my BIOS when I get home from work but I've been using core temp 1.5 to monitor it.

Ok so according to CoreTemp 1.5 and my BIOS my idle temp is 15 C and my start up temp is in the range of 30 I havent tried it again with dragons dogma for fear of overheating if need be I will I just prefer not to.

sometimes the sensors on the motherboards or the connections go bad or become un soldered.
