Question about adding Memory

Hello. I am newbie when it comes to this. I am planning to add same memory (8gb ripjaws 2400) on my desktop. There is one available slot for it. Will it make any difference? As far as I know, there's a maximum allowable memory depending on my CPU / MOBO.
Here is my desktop specs:

CPU: Intel i3-6100
GPU: Zotac 2gb 750Ti
MOBO: ASUS H110M-D
Memory: 8gb Ripjaws DDR4 2400
HDD: Toshiba 1TB
PSU: Deep Cool 500

that board will manage easily 32GB or ram.
matching brand and type is a good thing. and usually not a big deal as compatibility, but if you see lock ups happening after new ram in, it means not as compatible as you would like possible, return the 8gb and get a PAIRed 16gb (2x8gb)

but 90% if time it is not an issue if same make model speed and CL
