Since amd releasing new cpu this month if i'm not wrong. would the price of fx 8300 ones going to come down in a month or so?

should i wait for it?

Yes, that's fair, but if you're considering a potential fx8350 for $50 second hand to slot into a current computer setup, compared to purchasing new motherboard and an intel cpu, considering you're still likely to get playable frame rates in most titles... The fx8350 is still okay as a low end gaming processor.

I know because i've got one. Yes, compared to my modern i5 it lags behind in FPS... but it's still over 30fps in MMO's like Tera/WoW and over 50fps in most 1920x1080 titles.

Would i recommend buying one new in 2017? Hell no. But if you can get one on the cheap why not?

Edit for clarity - I use a GTX 970, but have also tried it with an R9 390.

I have a friend who's rig is fx8320 and GTX 960 and it still games on medium-high...
I wouldn't bother with the fx 8xxx, especially if you're waiting for ryzen. I'd just wait for ryzen. It's supposed to be more similar to intel performance. I doubt prices will drop much further, they're not going to give cpu's away for nothing. The reason the fx 8xxx are so low priced is because of their performance. They would be more expensive if they performed better. Ryzen are likely to be more expensive if they perform like similar intel cpu's which means they'll be more expensive than current fx cpu's. Priced according to performance, as performance improves prices increase.

I highly doubt it, tech companies that still have stock of the Fx series have already dropped them to a price where they are getting diminishing returns.

If anything, i'd wait for RyZen cpus to come out and see if there's anyone in your area that is upgrading from an FX series chip that you could get cheap second hand.

My FX 8350 rig isn't that far behind my i5 6600 rig in most titles.. it's not as bad as you make it out to be.

Yes Intel is better, but you are underselling it.

It depends on the game, often times an i3 beats out an fx 8xxx and has since 4th gen i3's. 6th and 7th gen i3's perform even better. In cpu intensive games aside from maybe a game like bf1 that makes use of additional cores/threads the fx fall behind in terms of min fps and frametimes. Maintaining a higher min frame rate reduces effects like lag/stutter and makes for smoother game play. Most times gaming benchmarks resort to only showing average fps which isn't the whole story.

I'm not underselling anything, in just about every task the fx fall behind aside from extracting compressed zip/rar files. It's been documented pretty well from various benchmarks and sites. The fx chips are cheaper but for a reason. They're priced in between an i3 and i5 which coincidentally is roughly where they perform. Even amd themselves have expressed the reasoning for their pricing structure and adjusting it to their relative performance to the competition.
