Hello Everyone,

I'm SamJazz a lover gaming and a High Tech Follower. I build my PC in 2014 with these spec :
MOBO : Z97 MSI Xpower AC
CPU : I7 4790k
Cooling : BeQuit Dark Rock Advanced
Power : 1300W Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid
Memory : 2 X 8Go @ 2166
SSD : Samsung 840 Evo
Graphics : Geforce GTX 1080 (it's a new acquisition)

for my birthday next week i wanted to update my build and i'm thinking of this build :
MOBO : X99 Rampage V Extreme U3.1
CPU : I7 6800k
Cooling : Masterloquid 240 Pro from CoolerMaster
Power : 1300W Cooler Master Silent Pro Hybrid "SAME"
Memory : G.SKILL TRIDENT Z DDR4 2 X 8 GO 3200 MHZ CAS 16
SSD : Samsung 840 Evo
Graphics : Geforce GTX 1080 (it's a new acquisition)

Is It Worth It ? Should I go for this update ?

Thank you for your support

PS: I play WoW, Overwatch, Diablo 3, and I plan to used Windows 10 to play the Xbox One games such as Forza 3 and Gears of Wars 4. I also use Photoshop and Lightroom
PS2 : I also do some OC's

I don't think it's worth it. You won't see much improvement if any for gaming. You'd end up spending a bunch of money and seeing no real appreciable difference. Have you tried overclocking the cpu you already have? Photoshop is mostly single core intensive and relies on strong fast cores more than it does a large number of cores, after around 4 cores there's very little difference.

Thank you all for your answers!

Here's the thing, but I the new configuration that I'm thinking of, will be upgradable in 02 years! But my actual will be passed into the same period no?

My main question Is if the new configuration is viable? And is it powerful?
