Ok, so I've had my PC for about a year now and then all the sudden my PC starts to randomly turn off whilst playing games. It could happen as soon as i got into my first game or it could happen 2-3 hours into a game.
So first thing i did was that i started monitoring my temps but my graphics card only went up too 70 Celsius and my CPU got to 60 Celsius so it was obviously not a overheating problem, then i factory reset my PC but it still restarted when playing games. So since i couldn't fix it i send it back to the company i bought it from (Komplett) to see if they knew what was going on, they told me they couldn't find anything but assumed it was the PSU so they switched my (corsair vs650) out for a (corsair cx650m) and sent it back to me. Everything seemed fine for about a week or 2 but then the same problem started occurring once again, but so far I've only had the problem on source based games (CSGO,dota2,l4d2), i hope this is enough info but feel free to ask questions if i missed anything, thx

specs:
MB: MSI Z97 GAMING 3 (with the latest BIOS: 2.A0)
PSU: Corsair cx650m
CPU: Intel i5-4590 (with stock cooler)
GPU: ASUS GTX970 4GB turbo
RAM: 2x HyperX Fury DDR3 1866MHz 4GB
SYSTEM: windows 10 home x64

I'm curious about your HDD, but a HDD issue would lead to a bluescreen or a restart.

I think that it's still the PSU/ motherboard/ their combination. Full shutdowns usually happen when some component is at a dangerous point which might lead to hardware failure. It happened to me in the past because I had a weak PSU for my configuration and I would get black screens and then restarts/ shutdowns after gaming. I just replaced my 500W PSU with a 650W one.

Edit: sadly, I'm not sure what to suggest in your case. I just wanted to present to you what was my issue.
