Hi,
My system takes 45 seconds to boot from POST to Desktop. I have updated the BIOS and all drives to the latest versions and firmware. Checked health and firmware with Crucial and Samsung drive software. I am booting off an M.2.
If I disconnect the three SSD drives the system boots in 7 seconds. If I connect any one, any combination or all three drives the boot time goes to 40+ seconds.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

check if your system is set to fast boot or not.
it should be an option in the bios.

without fast boot your bios will reconfirm all your hardware every time you boot, and slow you down.
fast boot will "assume" all the hardware is the same as last boot, and skip the verification step which is probably what's slowing you down.

Hi,
Thanks for answering.
The Fast Boot option is selected in Bios. I noticed that the M.2 (boot drive) and one of the stirage drives (Samsung) are using "Windows Boot Driver". Where the two crucial drives do not have this notation. I do not know if this could be the culprit. I know from the Samsung and System Infor software that the M.s is utilizing the NVMe driver

Hi,
Yes the Ver 2.1 is/was loaded but I loaded it again. The slow down is after the beep of the BIOS POST. The time from power on to the beep is about 6 seconds, then another 40 to reach the desktop.

What do you have set for these motherboard BIOS settings?

ASUS UEFI BIOS Utility - Advanced Mode ===> Boot CSM (Compatibility Support Module)

Launch CSM [Enabled]

Boot from PCI-E/PCI Expansion Devices [Legacy OpROM first]

M.2 PCIe SSDs are PCI-E expansion devices.

What do you have set for the Secure Boot ===> OS Type?
[Windows UEFI Mode] or [Other OS]

Hi,
I powered down the system, pulled the AC plug and gave it 10 seconds. I rebooted and it was a 10.45 second start up. Strange that if I select restart it takes 40+ seconds but if I start from power off the boot time from POST beep to desktop is a little over 10 seconds. So my issue is basically fixed. Thank you all for your time, ideas and helping me with my issue.
Respectfully
