PC Does not turn on with a molex to 6 pin adapter for my gtx 550 ti.

I have a High Power 750w psu with a gtx 550 ti but because the power supply does not have a 6 pin cable i had to buy a molex to 6 pin but since i have put the card in and the adapter the computer will not boot at all in fact it does not even turn on the only sign that its on it the LED on the Motherboard. any help on this?

i know im answering a bit later on but.
my psu is a semi-modular psu the HighPower 750w psu and because i dont really know what to search for on the internet to find a male 6 pin to goto the psu to get a 6+2 pin for a gpu power. so im just trying to use this molex to 6 pin adapter.

if you check carefully the pci-e connector is a fix one and is color is red check the link .
