TL;DR : I "booted" without a CPU once, now my PC doesn't even POST.

Okay so I had everything ready and connected, I just forgot to connect my CPU to the PSU ... I shut down the PC by pressing the power button for 3 seconds, connected the CPU cables (I had to squeeze them through ... the 212 Evo got in the way a lot) and tried to restart the PC without success.

PWR SW was connected, MOBO was powered (or so says the LED ...), PSU switch ON. RAM, GPU seated correctly.

I don't hear BEEPS on this MOBO with my headset. Do I have to use another type of speaker ? Front panel right ? HD Audio was cabled.

i5 6600k
212 Evo
MSI Z170 A pro
Sapphire RX 480 8g OC
2*8g Corsair Ripjaws V 3000mhz
Seasonic s12ii 620w
NZXT s340
a pci-e wireless network adaptater

What I tried so far :

CMOS reset, removing the battery, shorting it.

Manually switching the pc ON (shorting PWR SW).

Removed GPU, WIFI adaptater 1 stick of RAM, 2 sticks of RAM, fans.

Checked CPU pins (OK), re-seated CPU cooler more tightly.

Tried to test my PSU with a piece of metal (connect green wire to black one on MOBO power cable). Did not feel like it started, should maybe have tried with a case fan ? Will retest tomorrow.

Followed this link : www.tomshardware.co.uk/faq/id-1893016/post-system-boot-video-output-troubleshooting-checklist.html
Did everything (couldn't do #17 because I don't have a system speaker)

Tried with another, shittier, ATX PSU. Same results.

So yeah, I'm left with a blue LED that says the MOBO is powered but nothing else. I will thoroughly troubleshoot tomorrow if everything else fails.

Do you guys think I fucked up so hard I fried something ? How can I hear the beeps, there is nothing about it in the manual or on internet ? Will I even hear something ?

What did I forget to do ? What can I try before rebuilding from scratch (well it's already pretty much barebone once again ...) :(

might try to change the CMOS battery monday if niothing works, then RMA.

Thank you VERY VERY much !

Remove everything except the CPU and fan, keep a single stick of RAM in, try a confirmed working PSU, and booting on the IGP doesn't work? Probably a dud mobo => RMA. Other possibility is the BIOS for your mobo doesn't support that CPU, you'd have needed an older CPU, flash the mobo, then reinsert your CPU. Easier to RMA anyway and ask for an updated BIOS.
