This problem is getting out of hand. I keep getting bluescreens every time I do something ram consuming "usually games" and it really annoys me.

  • I have a AMD Radeon R7 200 Series, a relatively old graphics card that runs fine on a 650w power supply.

  • I have a 750w power supply that is positively working. Both ram sticks came out fine in the Mem test.

  • AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor

  • 2x8 Crucial Ballistix Sport crucial. Both ram sticks came out fine in the Mem test.
A more detailed spec list lies below.

I can't even tell what you're asking here. You say you have 2x8gb of ram but on your spec list I only see one stick of ram in. In the title it says something about only 3.12gb available but you haven't expanded on that. Don't know what you mean by a 650w psu and a 750w psu, that hardware should work fine on either of them. If you ram sticks were fine on a memory test then they can't be the problem. You really need to explain this better.

understood. Looking back on that it does look pretty confusing. Ignore the specs list unless we need it later. In the control panel in system it says that only 3.12gb out of 16 is available. That's currently my main issue. I know some ram is supposed to be reserved for hardware but 12.88gb seems a bit much, right? That's the main point. I didn't realize how stupid I sounded until now thanks for calling me out.

All good, yeah I don't know what that's all about, you could check the ram settings in the bios or on windows go into system configuration and then click advanced and see if the maximum memory box is ticked. Aside from that I'm not too familiar with ram problems so it'd be best if you searched through the forums cause I'm sure other people have had the same problem.

Hah. In msconfig max memory was set to zero. That would be a problem wouldn't it?
Now it says 16gb (15.1gb usable) the other gb is probably for hardware reserves. I am currently testing my games, so far so good. another hour and ill answer again to tell you if I get a bluescreen. Thanks!

Couple of bluescreens. Same old, just less often. I did realize that I was super behind on windows update and updating took about two hours. Hopefully it's fixed. I'm going to test some games as soon as I fix this stupid steam service
