hey everyone,

OK first where i live we have electricity problem so the electricity is not stable all the times it cut off for4 hours than come back after 4 hours, so i have a pce UPS that give 650va/350w and my PC RIG are: msi gtx 970 4g, 16gb ram, Intel i5 CPU, silverstone PSU 600w and 2t hard disk. now to the problem when i start my PC and unplug my ups nothing happens it stays on, but when playing and doing heavy load on it and power outage appear my PC either shutdown or restart so on heavy load the ups can not keep the PC on but on normal usage without anything running it will handle it so what is the problem. and please my biggest question and fear will this harm or shorten the life of my PC component or performance like the gtx 970 or the i5 CPU or ram this is my biggest fear so please tell me and thank you very much.

How often is this shutdown situation occuring? I'd try to minimize it to be safe. For specs, you want a higher VA and wattage. A unit with 1000VA would be plenty I would think for less strain on the unit and plenty of runtime available. Also, be aware that certain models don't like active PFC power supplies. Pure-Sine UPS are ideal for this situation.

The problem is simple, your UPS isn't powerful enough to keep your PC running under heavy load when power outage appears.

Check your UPS specs.
Small UPS is for light loads and once the power outage appears, it gives you enough time (depending on UPS, about 3 mins) to save your progress and shut down your PC.
UPS isn't some kind of portable powerplant that can keep your PC running under heavy load with extended periods of time when power outage appears.

If you want to use your PC under heavy load during the 4 hour power outage period, buy this instead,

Like mentioned above, you need a bigger UPS. A 350W unit is more suited for an office PC. You always want to allow for more power than your consuming for battery time and less strain on the UPS itself. A gaming PC needs a bigger UPS with more VA/watts available.

i know that it will not last for 4 hours but what i want is a time of 4 minutes to quit the game and shutdown my pc and that's it. and for the next part will it harm anything and thank you so much for the quick reply and you can have a look at my power calculator on outervision power supply calculator: http://

A sudden shutdown isn't good, but it can happen time to time. It could corrupt data though. I wouldn't want it to happen repeatedly though. Not worth the risk or damaging components from a preventable problem. I still think its worth your time to look into a larger UPS unit to suit your needs and get longer runtime.
