Using an MSI 980ti gpu and I don't really know when this problem started... but it hasn't always been like this. I did upgrade to an acer xb270hu monitor a month ago but never really checked for this problem. I reinstalled my drivers, made the refresh rate 60 and closed a lot of programs via task bar. I did msconfig to go for a diagnostic startup and it went back down to 400mhz @ 144fps.
Any ideas how to fix this? It never goes below 1139mhz unless I run on diagnostic mode...
Edit: Don't know if this is a full on fix because I have not tried restarting but I went to this http://forums.evga.com/980-SLI-with-Nvidia-Surround-high-idle-clock-fix-m2247670.aspx#2247768 tried it out and it worked but forced me to 60hz. Closed the application and it's still a low core clock on 144hz. https://gyazo.com/470ccb7f91cfa2a6443aa625b64ca7e5
Power consumption was also at like 41% before.
