My question is every time I try to overclock on amd overdrive my system freezes and reboots there is nothing in bios to manually oc the cpu only oc genie which bumps the clock up to 4.2 (stable) I'm just wanting a little more for gameing to prevent bottlenecks. If I don't use oc genie my stock is 3.6 with a turbo of 3.8/4.0 and if I try to alter Anything in amd overdrive system crashes and reboots thanks for any help

Are you absolutely sure there are no settings in your BIOS to manually overclock? I have no experience with MSI mobo's so I wouldn't know, but everytime I tried to of with overdrive I had the same problem as you with my fx-8320, but when I oc'd through the BIOS I had no trouble at all.

Well looking up your motherboard it is more on the low end side, its possible it doesnt support overclocking with your chip as other people seem to have been able to oc your chip fairly easily, you might have to just stick with the 4.2 boost for now until you can get a new mobo unless anyone else can suggest different
