I break a little clip on gpu slot when i pull out my old gpu, but other thread said this is not a problem even an old mobo doesn't have this clip?

I noticed my GPU (RX 480) never clicked into my mobo (Asrock 970) and upon further inspection I saw that the right side of the card isn't all the way in, it kinda leans down and out a bit.
Is this normal? Or is something wrong?

My gpu is work fine, i already run game for a few hours but is this will damage my gpu for long term use?

Solution
That is the cooler for the Southbridge chipset. In general you could cut a few ribs off to make place, but you might be better off placing the GPU in your 2nd full PCIe slot.
It looks a bit shifted, I would try to push it all the way in so it stays in evenly. Don't push it too hard. Remember also to loose the screw on the outlets so you can push it down, after that tight it back again. If all works well there is no problem with the clip being broken.

As of now thee is no problem if everything is working fine, however, a slight movement of your case might cause the videocard to move and that may cause an electrical short. So to be safe I would put it in properly.

my case have no more room on 2nd PCIe slot, how to cut a few ribs? please tell me

Use pliers. Probably the ones that cut down instead of to the side so it's easier to reach like these https://www.powertoolsdirect.com/hand-tools/pliers-strippers-snips-croppers/end-cutting-pliers-carpenters-pincers A small grinding wheel on a rotary tool will also work.
