Answer to previous question determined that my mobo does not support NVMe. That being the case, does it support booting from a M.2 SATA SSD fitted to an adaptor in the PCIe x4 slot?
Again the motherbd needs to support NVME boot to be able to boot from an NVME SSD.
The 970udp3 has uefi, I would check with Gigabyte to see if their bios supports nvme boot or not. (there's no bios update notes I could find)
