My name is Dan, and I'm looking to upgrade my pc. This is my current setup:
MoBo: GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0
CPU: AMD FX-4300 on stock cooler
GPU: GTX 1050Ti
8 GB DDR 3 Ram
120gb ssd/ 1tb hdd

I want to upgrade the CPU (preferably to an intel), so with that comes a MoBo upgrade, and probably a Ram upgrade to DDR4. I have about 250$ to spend, which includes the CPU, Mobo and 8GB DDR4 RAM. Since I am basically a complete newbie when it comes to pc building, I ask what suggestions you have for me. (am willing to go slightly over budget if it means a significant increase in performance, so if you have an idea for a 350$ budget, let me know).
(Yes I am a gamer, I mainly play Overwatch/ GTA V)
Thanks so much :)

This would be good for you, and has a nice upgrade. You can save money and get the i3, but for CPU intensive games (like GTA V), it would really benefit you in the long run. I do recommend steeping up that GPU though.

Thank you so much guys!
I'm gonna go with the Gigabyte MoBo (just have a little more experience with GA), and 1 stick of 8gb ram (for future upgrading purposes), and the i5 that both of you recommended, with stock cooler.

-edit: went with the Asrock Motherboard instead; the GA was not easily available, and i liked the UEFI

-Final edit: Just installed everything and i got a ~150 FPS boost in overwatch, everything works like a charm and i didnt even have to reinstall windows 10. Thanks again <3
