So I have a limited budget and want a GPU for my system with following specs:

- core i5 4570 (non K)
-MSI H87 mobo
- 8 gb ddr3 corsair vengeance
- corsair VS 450 PSU
-max resolution 1980 x 1050
-no OC, no multi display, no SLI, no rendering
- required for casual gaming like fifa, NBA, AC etc.
-getting both at a similar price (around 6k INR)

gtx 750 ti :Gainward, 8 months old, some warranty remaining too.

Gtx 670 : zotac, but is almost 4 years old.

Now I know 670 is a slightly better card than the 750 ti but you guys reckon my not so decent PSU would handle it? Also, should I buy a 3-4 yr old card over a newer generation and comparatively newer card?

the 750ti if it is not a special model, will not need 6 or 8 pin power connector

it is newer, it is alot less noisy on almost all models and produces very little heat

has more + than the other that is all the contrary

750ti is meant for 1080p ant medium to high on most games

ultra or high perhaps with that 670 but a 4 years old, noisy, power hungry and producing lots of heat, well, if it is really cheap and your psu is not that bad as you say, perhaps

i have one with a 430 thermaltake psu, nothing to report about power or stability

the 670 is another story

would there be remarkable difference in performance amongst these two cards? if not that much i'd rather have the 750 ti

yes, 670 all the way

http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-750-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-670/2187vs2181

but still, new is new, less power, heat and noise

perhaps futureprof and resolution should guide your decision, if you don't plan on update psu, 750ti is the one to get

if you plan to play on 1440p or 4k, 670 is the one to get but new psu will be rquired, the power cables on the one you have, only one 6 pin connector iirc, pherhaps 2, i think 670 uses 1 8 pin aand one 6 pin

I like my GTX 660 it's a little faster than 750ti and is cheap. You will not need To update ur PSU.It is a great entry-level level GPU that will game does not use much power and is cheap. The nvidia drivers for the 660 is almost flawless..Hands down the GTX 670 is the best GPU for games. Do not buy into this idea new is better it's not true all the time..eBay has used 660s for fifty bucks right now.I have used eBay for many of my PC parts and in ten years only had to return one item..

Peace
Tim

thanks for the input mate, but i went and got the 750ti last week. Anyway, the PSU and gpu would be upgraded by end of year and the 670 in question here was 4 years old, so i cose the 750 ti.
