Hello everyone,

A friend plugged the wrong power supply into his Seagate Expansion drive, and now we are here. The drive on the inside is a Seagate ST5000DM000. I tested it outside the case but nothing, no click, no spinning, nothing. I looked at the PCB but did not see any burn marks.

So any advice as to what's next?

You're not going to see burn marks. If the drive doesn't spin when you have power connected, then you killed something with the power circuit. You maybe able to feel something how if it's a burnt out capacitor or something but a HDD should spin up as soon as it has power, regardless of anything else working or not.
