Hi I'm going to build my pc soon but theres one thing I'm stuck on.My case will have 3 fans but my motherboard only has one fan header so I don't know how I can connect them. I could use a fan splitter but will my mobo be able to handle that many. I don't mind having them connected to my psu running at full speed all the time. I'd prefer that option but I'm clueless on molex connectors so can someone fill me in on how I connect fans to a molex
Thanks

Solution
Forgot about you mate.
Yes the front & top fans are molex powered - it's an annoyance to be honest.
They are relatively quiet though even though they run full speed (there fairly low rpm 1000rpm)
The plugs come with pass throughs so realistically you only need 2 x molex ( 1 for the front , 1 for the top)

thanks, do you know what sites sell them in the uk I cant find any
cheers

What case & fans are you looking at using ??
There are plenty of options open (im uk too)

You can generally run 3 120mm fans off a single header absolutely safely.
If you're purchasing fans separately the f12pwm PST fans from artic cooling have inline splitters built in to the cables.

Hi there I'm going to use 2 noctua 120mm fans https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/bKFPxr/noctua-case-fan-nfs12bredux1200pwm and a pre installed rear 120mm

What case exactly is it though mate ??
Some cases come with molex powered fans fitted.
Also are you going to be using an aftermarket CPU cooler ??
The reason I ask is because if you're using a 120mm CPU cooler then you're better with 2 x twin fan splitters.
Linking the rear exhaust in with the CPU fan & running the intakes separately from the motherboard on a seperate splitter.

This is if what you're looking at is 2 x intakes , 1 x exhaust.

Just let us know your case model is , what fan configuration you intend on running exactly & whether you're going to use an aftermarket CPU cooler & I'll point you to exactly what id use.
These kind of scenarios are my 'bag' mate aa I build a lot of matx htpc stuff that needs to run cool & quiet & most boards only have 1 header.
I've used a lot of splitters & adapters & know which ones to avoid.

I'm just afraid of the wall of cages blocking the 1200rpm fans.

But to be clear, is this the case design? BitFenix BFC-NEO-100-WWWKP-RP

To be honest, I only deal with 1U/2U/3U chassis, I haven't installed fans in a tower in many years. The towers I do see have a very clear flow of air from front to back (but they have 2 CPU's). For home, I always buy fans rated 2x/3x the rpm needed and drop the voltage down. I have a PWM controller to test the fans before applying the needed resistance value. Resistors would be the cheapest way (but not best), otherwise I'd buy a controller.

Or, just put the 2 fans in and you'll probably be fine :). You didn't really mention any details to figure heat, so you're probably not doing extreme OC or anything.

Is there any that you recommend, (preferably with a window) as long as everything is cool.

How about the Corsair 100R? I can install 2 top exhausts and 2 intakes, (rear) exhaust included) I could buy 4 noctua redux fans but I'm back with the 1 fan header problem again :/

Honestly for the £40ish bracket the zalman r1 is a really nice little case.

3 fans included , remove vthe top exhaust one & putbitbinbthe from as another intake then use the twin fan controller built in for the front fans.
You could run that as is with no extra fans or cable to buy.

Moduvent panel on top to allow 2 more fans or a radiator.

Excellent value for money

Step up the z9 neo which is a mentally good case.

5 fans , PSU shroud , excellent quality & just looks great IMO

One of my favourite budget cases of the last year personally.

I Would go with the z9 but pc part picker says this: Gigabyte GA-B250M-D2V Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard has an onboard USB 3.0 header, but the Zalman Z9 ATX Mid Tower Case does not have front panel USB 3.0 ports.

I could go with the r1 and buy 2 case fans?

You would not need 2 extra case fans with the r1 in all honesty mate, removing the top panel spoils the case.

The z9 BTW ?? I'm talking about the z9 neo , the z9 & z9 neo are completely different cases (confusing I know)

The z9 has USB 2 only , the z9 neo has 2xusb 2 & a usb3 port .
