Hello guys! I surfed all day on the internet for soulution but didn't find anything. I just built my new Gaming/Workstation PC. and installed fresh Windows 7 Professional. I have one SSD on which i installed windows and 2 HDD's one of which is not showing up in windows, but it is visible in BIOS.
Both of these hdd's was on my old system, and they was working fine. but now on my new system one of them refusing to show up in windows.

It is not visible in Device manager, and not visible in Disk Management, the only place where it is visible is BIOS.

Luckly i have SATA to USB adapter which i used, and when i connect this hard drive via USB it becomes visible. That means that HDD is perfectly fine, and working, but only if i connect it to USB using adabter.

Let me write a list of actions that i already did to try resolve this issue.

1. Replace SATA cable.
2. Plug HDD in different SATA port.
3. format
4. bios checking
5. used recovering tools CD.

perhaps i can try some sort of tweaking in command prompt, or use another recovery tools?

It just wont show up no matter what i do. Please help :(

Hey there.

Try the drive with a different computer if possible to see if the same thing happens. Other than that, I'd strongly suggest that you backup any important data which you might have written on it, just to be on the safe side. After that, go ahead and download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool so that you can run the tests and see if anything alarming pops-up.
If you don't have the option to test the drive with a different computer, at least do so with a different port and different cables (both data and power since you've mentioned only one cable) at the same time. You could do that by using those of a drive that's working properly.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes.

Thanks for reply. I did everything i can, but didn't manage to get it working, i just installed new hdd today, and it's working properly. The old one i just gonna use as external hard drive

It's a really weird issue. Perhaps if you backup your data and reformat it, you could try using it internally. Other than that, I'd still recommend that you test it with its manufacturer's diagnostic tool, because if it turns out that the drive itself is having issues, you should be able to RMA it if it's still under warranty.
