Hey everyone. I'm new to the OC community here, but have messed around with my chip prior. I OC'd it slightly and didn't go any further. Later returning it to factory settings, when I installed my new Asus mobo.

I've been doing alot more pc gaming as of late and was hoping I could get a decent OC on this chip. My setup is as follows:

FX 6300 (black edition)
pny gtx 960 xlr8
asus 970 pro mobo
cooler master hyper 212 evo
seasonic 520w 80+ bronze Psu

I was wondering what type stable / safe OC I could achieve with this setup. Thanks in advance for the replies.

No that combo is freaking ridiculous. FX6300, i think a 2012 model, puts the 8350 to shame on single core performance. That's all that matters for games so far anyway. I got mine up to 4642mhz, ran p95 for a few minutes, then I switched over to Far Cry Primal, the only game that would drop below 60. It still does. I think eventually you will get a taste of the law of diminishing returns.

All in all, 6300 is the best overclocker I've owned. 8350 is okay.

im assuming put it too your liking and put on onscreen display with afterburner or either evga precision o x and if it reachs 85c or higher stop it and if you are about too not use your computer too go somewhere or sleep just turn everything down in precison ox or msi afterburner and put your computer in sleep mode because it probally will stay below 60c when in sleep mode with no over clock settings yw!

I currently have an Asus pro gaming mobo with an fx-6300 @4.7ghz at 1.5v max package temp 44c and max socket temp 53c but you have to tinker with digi+ a bit to get stable: note it's on water
