Building a budget gaming rig need some advice so i never have bought a ready to go pc i have always built my own since 2000 also have used AMD for years.Ok i will not be overclocking or running multiple graphics cards nor do i game all time maybe a couple times a week or so but i would like to run DOOM 4 at 1080p which from what i have read the components i have chosen will do at 1080p 60 to 70 fps good enough for me.So the mobo are the MSI Gaming 970 Gaming AM3+/AM3 AMD 970 and SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard $89 and the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS $119 the ASUS would be my first choice but i do not need SLI support the price difference is not that far apart so i would like other peoples opinions and suggestions.Other components will be MD FX-6350 Vishera 6-Core 3.9 GHz (4.2 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 125W AMD Wraith Cooler ,16 gigs of ddr3 1866 ram,GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card

Entry level gaming intel i3/Pentium kaby lake builds can be done for less than $600. Main thing will be deciding on a graphics card. The more you can put towards that one part, the better your gaming performance will be.

Maybe just get a new case and transfer over the hardware from you htpc and have it serve double duty.

No I have htpc under my smart tv in the den so not going to mess with that.I know the better graphics card you have the better the games will run I may steer towards the Msi board because Asus does have a bad support rep I know I have had to deal with them before thanks
