Broken ribbon lock on motherboard, how would I fix this?

Since it's unlikely I'm going to be capable of getting a replacement ribbon lock for the motherboard without buying the actual motherboard again, what kind of adhesive should I use to attach the ribbon to the input?
Something that would be safe for ribbons, of course. I'm trying to repair my laptop, and the final issue I have is fixing the keyboard ribbon, as it cannot connect to the motherboard firmly (as stated before).

Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you :)

If its a flat ribbon type that had a locking tab on it that you flipped up 45 degrees to unlock the ribbon from the housing.

Then what you need to do is either find a bit of very thin plastic or use a bit of thin card.
Lay the ribbon flat in the connector so all of the carbon graphite, or gold pins touch the connector.
And then you can if you cut the bit of card to the right size squeeze it so it sits over the ribbon cable and forces it down and then wedges it between the back side of the connector block where it will be tight and secure if done right Kawwaii.

ok done this a few times my self when found on broken laptop motherboards, it work and they stay fixed in place.

I sort of get what you're saying... however, I lost you when you mentioned this.
"..then wedges it between the back side of the connector block where it will be tight and secure".
Could you give me a picture example of this? Would help me out a lot B)
