since i installed my TL-WA830RE my skype started to lose connection for a short period of time, and when i went to play some online games like fifa and robocraft, i noticed that, periodically i was kicked from the server/match at the same time that my skype lost connection, can someone tell me why this happen? is it a thing that happens with range extender? how do i solve it?

internet @ 2.4Ghz channel 5
my wireless adapter is TL-WN851ND from TP link
my thoughts are that it is sending big packets

Solution
Range extenders are the kind of product that just does not work as well as advertised or as hoped by the user.
First of all they usually dont put any better of hardware/antennas in them then what a USB dongle has
Second, it is still a single radio which means it has be a middleman between you and your router, this means that it has to split its time talking with the router, and then talking with the clients. This split also means that your mbps bandwidth gets split in half and adds a lot latency (delay) for gaming.
Couple this with the fact that many users "install" them wrong by putting them where the signal is already crappy instead of closer to the router and it is bassically destened to fail.

Assuming that running an ethernet...

Assuming that running an ethernet cable in crawlspace/attic to your room is not an option, the next best option would be to use a powerline network adapter instead of wifi.

Solution
Agree with previous poster - - my range extender loses connection momentarily, very frequently.

Some days it doesn't happen at all, but it is something you have to live with if you are forced to use one.
It may be an allbeit small consolation to know that you're not alone!

what i did was changing the antennae on my wireless adapter with my range extender, and where i put my RE it has 50% of connection (acording to the config menu) and now its not stopping, maybe its a antennae failure? the antennae from the range extender are 5Dbi and from the Wireless adapter are 2Dbi, and i'm planning on buying new ones 4 9DBi
