Hello All,

I have just finished building a pc from some scraps of 2 older ones, I am trying to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on the PC using a boot CD but after running it up, I get two screens after the BIOS:

First screen: "Windows Failed to start. A recent hardware error or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
- 1. Insert you windows....
- 2. Choose your lang setting
- 3. Click "repair your pc"

File: \windows\system32\winload.exe

Status: 0xc000000e

The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

Enter = Continue"

So, after pressing Enter, I got this:

Second Screen: " Choose an operating system to start:
(Use arrow keys to highlight your choice, then press ENTER.)
Windows 7 Professional (recovered) *highlighted*

To specify for an advanced option for this choice, press F8

ENTER = Choose ESC= Exit"

So if I choose the option (ENTER), it brings me to Screen 1 and then it will bring me back to screen 2, and so the loop continues.

Please can anyone give me any advice about how to resolve this problem. I know this message is not very concise but I wanted to give you as much info to work with as I could. If you need my specs, here they are below:

you'll need to format that HD, before you can really do anything productive, as the windows install is seeing a present copy of windows. You'll need to use the advanced options(it's been a while since I did a clean install, but somewhere in there you'll find the option you need) by pressing F8. Reformat the HD and at that point you'll get a more cooperative install.

@dudmont I tried formatting it through BIOS but it doesn't seem to work, going to try formatting it in someone else's desktop and then trying again. Thanks for the help. Will keep you updated.

Can you give me a link that explains how to do it? Or explain if it's not too long.
