Z170-Z270 for i7 7700?

Is there any reason whatsoever to take a motherboard with overclock capeability(z170) with a CPU that does not support overclock(7700 non k)?
I want to get a grx1080 with i7 7700 and i will not overclock my system. A b250 will do the job?

It will, mainly you only lose the ability to overclock, SLI, and use memory beyond 2400mhz. If you don't need these features then theres nothing to worry about.

So what you are saying is, as long as I do not care about SLI, OC and 2666+ mhz, a Z170 will be equal in terms of what I get to a b250, correct?
