BSOD while gaming on R9 290 (not overheating)

Let me start with specs:
R9 290
i5 4460
B85M-E45 Motherboard
Corsair VS 550W
8 GB RAM G.Skill
1 TB HDD
TP Link Wifi Adapter

Have this problem happening for a long time, happened even when I had a GTX 960.
Basically, PC will crash/freeze randomly and usually display the dreaded IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I've tried running memtest, I've tried updating drivers, I've tried runinng SMART scan on the HDD. Hell, I've stress tested the GPU and the CPU to rule them out as culprits. I have no idea what could be causing this - maybe the motherboard as i have issues plugging in USB devices sometimes.

The latest bios revision is 10.9. What bios version are you on?
Here are the fixes and enhancements:
- Improved AMD Graphic card compatibility.
- Improved memory compatibility.
- Support PSC B-die DDR3 Memory
- Fixed Realtek lan still can work after disable "Onboard LAN Controller" in BIOS.
- Updated VBIOS and GOP Driver.
- Enhanced EIST function when use non turbo boost CPU.
- Improved USB device compatibility.
- Improved S3 function.
- Improved PS2 device compatibility when "MSI Fast Boot" is enabled.
- Improved compatibility.
