I have replaced my motherboard and CPU and my old motherboard had a 2x2 pin outlet for the CPU power and the new motherboard has a 2x4 pin outlet. I only have a 2x2 pin connector so I got an adapter that converts the 2x2 to a 2x4 and it still doesn't boot up. It will start to turn on for about 7 seconds then will turn off and try to turn back on again. I don't know what to do now.

What motherboard, processor, and power supply?
There is no need for an adapter. If you are confident using the power supply you can just use half of the connector (right half)

On the side of the PSU it says "LSP ULTRA 550w ATX Power Supply". I have tried the right side method but it still won't work
Could I have maybe not plugged the wires in the right way for the motherboard that will make it stop booting up?
