I need to upgrade my PC to 8GB RAM.
DDR2 RAMs are costing a lot so I would opt to buy DDR3 if that's an option.
I'm running an Intel Q9400 on a ga-ep45c-ud3r motherboard using win7 ultimate.
I've been going through the supported RAM list but couldn't make anything out of it.

I saw the other posts in here regarding the EP45 series - I'm not sure what their relevance to my motherboard so I'm posting this question.
I mean these:

1. I need is explained simply, can I upgrade my RAM to 8GB of DDR3 or not?

2. Does it matter if I install 8GB as Dual-Channel or a single Slot?

3. If all else fails - Can I somehow tweak my Motherboard to work in a capacity of 8GB DDR3 RAM?

Thank you for your time,

Tuxu.

EDIT:

Just to clarify -

a. My system is currently running on kingston hyperx DDR3 4GB ram(2x2gb)
b. I have trying to use G.skill Aegis 8GB (2x4gb) ddr3-1600 memory - My motherboard beeped repeatedly. I've checked that the RAMs were stuck all the way through and that the safety locks on the sides were fastened in place - They were.

What it's saying is it will support DDR3 1.5v (standard modules) but the motherboard cannot address more the 8GB total. So you could technically install 16GB but it would not utilize more than 8GB. Dual channel memory is noticeably faster in some circumstances such as rendering and file compression, so I would get 2 4gb DDR3 1600 memory modules. They will be labled as 2x4gb.

Yes, well - I am having trouble with that exact list as I've previously posted. :)
To my understanding it says that I can't have 8GB of DDR3.
Regarding my second question - I am asking if there's any difference between a dual-slot set up of 2x4GB or a single chip of 8gb.

I just want 8 GB, I'm not greedy. :)
I've tried these and failed horribly - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231744
Am I doing something wrong?
Did I overlook something?

That link you sent me is ddr3L memory which operates at a lower voltage. You want regular ddr3 that runs at 1.5 volts :)

I've posted the wrong link, I had a too long day and so I've missed that L.
I've changed the link and edited some clarifications in a few minutes after posting so maybe if you take a look at it you might get an insight into my situation better than before.
I've had my try with the regular version of that DDR3:
https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231744

It's manual says they require the regular 1.5v which I had my bios set to by default, so again -
Am I doing something wrong?
Did I overlook something?

Thanks again, you're great! :)

My system is currently running on kingston hyperx DDR3 4GB ram(2x2gb) with no problem, so yes - I know where the slots are.
