Any idea on how to do that ? Also for some reason i have 2 'Edit with IDLE' in my right click menu, can i remove the 2nd ?

normally you just right click a file and select properties, there is a line that says "opens with" and a change option. click change and navigate to python.exe. should now open to python and not try to run the file itself.

or am i misunderstanding what you mean by "edit with idle". does that open the file some other way? you'd need to identify the exe file being used for that command if it is different, then just select that one as default to open with.

that doesnt do anything, it always "Opens" with doubleclick (meaning it just runs the script while i want to edit with doubleclick). i dont think it can be fixed that way cause it's not a matter of association, it is already associated to python

some google searching only turned up how to add the "edit with IDLE" back to the menu which you already have. i have not used python in a while but will install it and tinker tomorrow when i get a chance. will let you know if it turned up anything.

i'm usually pretty good with this kind of random stuff :)
