got a new msi gtx 1060 that only has 1 each of DP, hdmi, dvi
problem is, the monitors only have dvi-d inputs (they're old lcd).
if we plug both monitors into the hdmi & DP ports we get a low res of 1280x800 on both.
if we do dvi out and either one of the other two we get 2560x1600 on the monitor connected via the dvi but only 1280x800 on the other (hdmi/dp outs).
Is it because the 1060 can’t push 2 hi-res monitors or is it the monitors that don’t accept the digital from the hdmi/dp pprts?
Note:
-We did try new/different cables
-added a 3rd monitor which connected via dp-adapter-to-dvi at 1920x1200 just fine while the 2560x1600 was up via dvi
-did same with 2 other monitors and dp/hdmi-to-dvi cables at 1920x1200 & 1920x1080 just fine while the 2560x1600 was up via dvi
any suggestions what to try next?
edit:
we also tried a 1070 from a different system and still don't get the right resolution on the second screen
