Note this isnt related to a CPU fan at all! it is the fan that sits above my cpu.

the Fan runs at 5k rpm or 6k rpm when playing witcher 3. its starting to run so fast its making a buzzing noise, that i assume is it being on the verge of breaking. not sure how to tell it to calm down and get the rpm lower. cpu temp is normal i guess. any help?

Sorry for some reason i was thinking of the H110's 240mm rad. Yeah fitting it at the back would work much the same as fitting it at the top. It will offer slightly worse performance than fitting it at the front as it will be taking in the warm air from the case rather than the cool outside air but it should still be effective. My H100 is fitted at the top of my case taking in warm air and still keeps a 4790k at around 45C under load.

You could also make a makeshift bracket out of some metal/plastic by simply drilling two holes in it and bending it. Doing this you can then use the brackets bent outwards to adapt a 120mm mounting to a 140mm.

Guess i didnt make it clearer. oops. yeah its a case fan that is above the cpu vs the other 2 that are in my mid and front of the case.

Fan is connected to Chassis spot on my mobo. #1 or #2 i beleive. im having doubts as to which fan it is, they are all close together which makes it hard to tell if its the 140mm corsair fan they give you with the case or one of my af 120s or the cpu fan.

Edit2: Upon further analysis i beleive its the cpu fan itself running 6k, but ive never seen it run so hard before.. maybe lack of thermal paste? since when my water cooler broke it was a hastily done replace of the stock cooler with a good but maybe not good enough ammount of thermal paste?

what exactly was done hastily, did you not put the cooler on correctly?

are you now using the stock cooler? did you clean off the old thermal paste?

What is your CPU temp during gameplay?

Specs?

Old water cooler exploded, moved to set the stock back on (yes using stock on AMD 8350 classic i know) didnt clean the therm from the preapplied because it was so thin on there, what was left on my stock after i took it off (4days old if that matters) and an extra dot of thermal.

Cpu temp runs ah shucks, 40 - 50 on mid to low games and 60 - 70 *C* when playing high games mabye 80 *C* when its like witcher 3 or bf4.

Asus sabertooth r2.0
AMD 8350 *stock since the crappy gamer storm cpu cooler broke twice!*
Gtx Gigabyte extreme 1060 * small oc*
750W EVGA PSU
Static 140mm exhaust *attached to CPU OPT*
2x 140 led intakes *set onto manual fan controller*
3x AF120 led Corsair fans *set onto various Chassis fan pins*
i assume optical HDD dont matter?

The H90's Radiator should fit nicely in the front or top fan mounts in your case. As far as i know the CPU fan is controlled by the bios, so the short answer is no sadly. The AIO's use a dummy cable to trick the bios into thinking there is a fan connected so that the radiator fans can be controlled via software.

I could put the h90 in the top but not the front because of the plastic holding the fans there, also i think i mentioned having 3 fans on top, and not wanting to move them. but the main thing to mention is those spots are 120 so the rad would have to go to the back, but ive seen people mention they had to modify their case to fit it even though they had a 140mm spot
