So I have a PC I built that shuts off randomly on hight power games like skyrim and I thing it's the power supply. How many watts should I be running with a amd fx-6300 viscera +16 gb ram Ddr 3 +graphics card ns - 40d420nA16 nvidia g force gtx 750ti and my tb hard drive

Your current system will only use ~300w under full load. Whats the make and model of your current psu?
Well it's one I ripped put of a old dell that ran like windows 7 when it came out so that's why I'm thinking it's getting weak. So 300 watts is good . Then how about 500 just to be future safe ? Any recommendations ?? Now I'm reading all this other language about 80 gold certified or whatnot I don't know anything about

Depends how you will upgrade. A decent 550w (G2, G3, RMx) will be fine for a 7600k and a 1070 sort of standard build since gpu power draw is dropping, alot actually with the current gen.
