I recently upgraded my friend's MacBook Pro early 2011 edition by switching the 500gb 5400rpm HDD with a Crucial MX300 525gb SSD and replaced the Optical Drive with a 1tb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm HDD. Everything works great but as I am a PC user and he doesn't know much about MacOS either, we don't know how TimeMachine works. So here are my questions (TimeMachine is of course set up to backup on to the HDD):
1. Can I control what is backed up and what isn't? If so, how?
2. How do I access my backups? I looked through it and just can't seem to figure out how it works.
3. Is it possible to use the HDD as like an external Hard Drive? If so, I can't figure out how.
4. How much space does TimeMachine take up? I opened it and it gave me tons of versions of the windows I had open, which I don't understand why I would need.
