Hey guys. So i recently bought and installed a Corsair H110i. While installing i ran into nothing unusual, i removed my old hyper 212 evo, fiddled around with the positioning of the radiator for the h110i, and plugged in a USB3 connecter that i had neglected to connect when first building the pc.
After i installed the cooler, I powered on and the tower wont POST at all.

All of my fans turn on as well as all the LEDs on the mobo and graphics card.

I reset the bios by unplugging the battery on the motherboard . And i reseated the h110i and got it to boot to bios, then after exiting the bios it reset and refused to POST once again. Thinking it was the way the cooler was seated, i reinstalled my old 212 evo, and am still having the same problem. I took out my gpu and plugged in the onboard graphics and my screen flashes "No HDMI input" and turns off again over and over.

I am at a loss. I have no clue what the problem is and even more confused that i got it to work once but nothing else after. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Specs:
MSI Z170 Gaming Pro Carbon
I7 6700k OC 4.6Ghz
GTX 1070 Asus Strix OC
Corsair h110i/Coolermaster hyper 212 evo.
Thermaltake 600w PSU

when you took the motherboard out of the case to install the rear bracket on your motherboard for mounting of your H110i, nothing happened? a slip you might of forgotten or dismissed because you saw nothing, while mounting no juggling of parts tapping against each other? Excessive pressure to mount the cooler that could of done damage to cpu ? as hobby tech sometimes we forget a whoops, that comes and haunt us later.

if not have you tried reseating your cpu ?

I actually got it to work finally after taking out the 8pin cpu power connector and making sure it was plugged in right. I even reseated the RAM for good measure and everything boots up just fine now.

Now my problem is Windows10 seems to be corrupted as i cant get far without BSoDs or freezes. Im pretty sure its a software issue because i ran into things like cortana crashing repeatedly and the OS freezing when opening certain programs. Im in the middle of reseting Win10 and doing a clean install, if problems persist then i may have done something to my cpu.

Since it's a z170 chipset, this means you recently built this pc. This motherboard still likely under warranty so you should be contacting MSI to RMA the motherboard. Since you'll be taking all the parts out of the case anyways, assemble the parts outside of the case and test for post, without the graphics card. If the computer posts, then you introduced some sort of grounding issue into your build when swapping out the cpu cooler. There's metal touching metal, that shouldn't be. If the computer doesn't post, then it's most likely the motherboard and you should open a support case with MSI. Don't tell them anything about replacing the cpu cooler. Just tell them your computer fails to post and tell them all of the troubleshooting steps you went through stated above.

Yes i can, after about 3 or 4 hours of trying every possible combination of attempts, i got it to boot up by rechecking the 8pin and reseating thr RAM.

Thanks for your guys' input. I think the cable going from my psu to the cpu may be faulty, or may have disturbed the RAM while installing the cooler.

I reinstalled windows and everything is running smooth. Currently running RealBench stress test and temps are looking great!
