This past weekend I purchased a new PC specs are copied below:

PowerSpec® G427
Intel® Core™ i7 -7700K Processor
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
ASRock Fatal1ty Z270 Gaming K6 System Board
16GB composed of 2- 8192MB DDR4/3200 DIMMS
NVIDIA GeForce® GTX 1080 GAMING PCI Express

Here is the problem I am trying to solve. When expanding video to full screen the video as well as the desktop becomes pixelated. It can be playing in either the web browser (youtube, vimeo, etc) or video that sits on the hard drive and played through windows media player. the pixelation does not happen when the video is playing windowed and only happens once it is expanded to full screen. taking a screenshot while the desktop is pixelated does not seem to capture the problem because after resetting the resolution through the Nvidia control panel the pixelation goes away on the desktop as well as when viewing the screenshot. This leads me to believe that it could be something to do with the display which is a Sony Bravia LCD tv.

I have reinstalled windows, spoke to Nvidia tech support and did a clean instal of the Nvidia driver with no results.

Any ideas on what is happening would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance!

Thanks for the response. Were you able to correct the problem by changing any settings in the graphics card that would stop forcing an unsupported resolution when expanding to full-screen video?
