Hello,
I have recently got a Asus rog gL552. I've been monitoring my CPU temperatures lately (i have an I7 6700HQ) to ensure everything is running okay and i've run in to something that has worried me. Whilst is usually runs within the normal boundaries, between 70c and 90c according to Asus, during certain games core1 will spike above 90c for a split second. I have got a cooling pad and I have opened the laptop to check for dust but nothing i've done has addressed this spike issue.

Solution
Most laptops allow their CPUs to get that hot. Max temp for your CPU is 100c before throttling, and 130c before shutdown.
