Each time I boot my PC, says that there is a hard disk failure. I triple checked that all wires are connected to my hard disk but still get this message, it tells me to continue with F1 so I do and get this message on a black screen:

No boot device available, wait for Enter key to retry.
SATA 0: Installed
SATA 1: Installed
SATA 4: None
SATA 5: None

I have a Windows 7 Dell Inspiron PC. My hard drive is a Western Digital WD6400AAKS - 22A7B0 640GB.

Used, I've had this HDD since I got this PC, it just suddenly popped up after I turned my PC on after not using it for a couple of days.

I put in the new HDD that is clean, I put it replaced it and connected it and it stats up without giving me the "SATA... etc." stuff, it goes past the DELL loading screen but then blue screens, instantly dissapears and my PC restarts, it allows me to run the Launch Repair thingy but that doesnt help at all.

Well, that's to be expected if the new HD was installed in a different machine. You need to reinstall the OS so that the configuration and drivers of the OS match the machine it's trying to run on.

I've had my dad's friend come in and he's fixed had a look, said that the HDD might be damaged. He said he'll have a good look at it tomorrow and bring his tools to possibly fix it, I'll probably end up having to buy a new HDD. Thanks everyone for helping me this far. I'll reply here if anything else happens.
