Been hearing good things about the ASUS PB278Q. I currently have a MacBook: 2.26 GHz intel core 2 duo processor. 2 GB DDR3 ram - OSX 10.6.8 - Nvidia GeForce 9400M and would like to know if I can run the Asus monitor at full resolution @ 60Hz if all I'm doing is basic internet searches, YouTube and coding? I won't be using the monitor for gaming. I do plan on upgrading my very old system, perhaps even building something from scratch in the future. Until then I thought I'd just go for the monitor if my intel 530 graphics and/or 9400M can drive it.
Thanks for any guidance or feedback. P.S I'd have to use a mini-display port from the laptop to display port hookup.

for non gaming it should be fine. 60 hz is not that much of a consideration since you won't be doing anything that needs to refresh the screen that fast. the build in igp is plenty to run a 4k screen for non-gaming. so 1440p should be fine as well.

i ran a 1080p screen from an old netbook based on the old junk intel atom cpu. no problem there, and i don't expect a problem for you either under such light conditions :)
