Hi,
Last year I built my first gaming pc, http://pcpartpicker.com/list/QtvCjX, it runs mid-high, but I'm looking to upgrade because I want to run games on ultra. MMOs to be specific such as BDO and Blade and Soul. If anyone can help I would appreciate.

Thank you

Solution
I would suggest getting a K series CPU so you can overclock.
Current Build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QtvCjX

My recommendations for upgrades.

Eventually I would upgrade the RAM to 16gb.

Hello fellow BnS player! Unfortunately even with higher end parts you may still need to lower settings to keep a steady FPS. My system (i7/2x780 6gbs) struggles on BnS which could be a result of the SLI but if I keep it @Ultra the FPS can range from 120 (144hz monitor) down to around 40ish during heavy action. I found the best option is to setup the Auto option which will change some settings as you play to keep the FPS where you want it but its not the other option that says for low end pc's (cant remember since im out of the house ATM).

What are your CPU & GPU usage while in game?

If you want ultra, you gotta pay for it.

MMOs aren't coded super great, and also have a bigger inconsistent processing load because of all the other players.

I don't mind getting a whole new system as long as I can run on ultra.

"@mcconkeymike, I wouldn't get the 1060 6gb as its performance is similar to the GTX 980 and the 980 isn't much faster then the 970 so it would be a waste of money. I would upgrade to a 1070 at the very least."

Will these help in running ultra?

Also, if I build a new pc can I build it with some of the parts of my current pc?

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Bradley_7 : "Help with upgrading to ultra"

2GB VRAM for your GFX card is low these days. 4 or 8GB 480 is a good upgrade. Ultra would be a 1070 8GB or better.

8GB can be low depending on gaming settings. 16GB is better for ultra. A NEW 16GB kit is preferred. Sell the old or save for troubleshooting. Most likely identical modules will work but compatibility is only guaranteed with kits.

There are some games that prefer the i7. an i7 6700 would be best for ultra. Would the extra expense to get to ultra be worth the upgrade? Not imo. Sell the 6500 i5 to help belay the cost. The 6600 i5 would be a good comprimise but not necessarily worth the price of admission uless you can recoup a good amount from your 6500. With Ryzen CPUs about to be released in a bit over a month and Kaby Lake CPUs having already been released you can expect competition in the used market.

Upgrading to ultra isn't the best of ideas(not a bad one either) when you have a basic monitor. The 1070 wouldn't fully be able to spread her wings. A 144Hz 1440p monitor would be better suited for ultra.
