Hello, I have 2 good mobos...one Intel L1156 socket and an AMD FM2+ socket. I could either get a AMD 880k or and old i7-860. They both are about the same price (at the moment). The cpu I choose will be paired with an old PNY GTX 660 Ti.
This will be maily for light gaming with older titles. The i7 is a quad core with HT where the AMD has none. The AMD however has a highr clock and larger L2 cache. Gaming will be 1080P and mostly Heroes and Generals and maybe SW Battlefront 2 when it comes out.
