The LCD on my Samsung S4 has completely shattered so I cant use the touchscreen whatsoever. I have some photos on the Photo Vault app and was wondering how I could retrieve them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Get an OTG USB cable, and USB hub. Connect a mouse, and a flash drive, to the hub, connect hub to the OTG cable, OTG cable to the phone. If you're lucky, you will be able to use the mouse to navigate the screen, and copy photos to the USB.

As @bnewlands32 suggested, connecting your phone could help, too. If you have synched youw phone with Google, you might have your photos already uploaded in Google Photos.

if the phone still works, connect it as normally to the pc, just unlock it as the way you always do and then when system detects a mtp device will let you see the pictures inside it

if the phone wasn't set as a mtp device, well, you need to set some options before the phone decides to use usb cable as charge only

that is for the internal memory, the microsd, just remove it and plug it into a microsd card reader and copy files, if the memory is not encripted is a process of copy and paste all that is inside the DCIM folder in the memory

same for the internal memory

another option is buy the part the touch screen and the display, once installed, use it normally, like nothing bad happened to the screen
