Greetings, last time you helped me a lot on building my PC, well now I got some money and I want to upgrade my GPU, since I only have my loyal xfx radeon 4870 hd (5 years old), however it allows me to play almost every game I want, just with very low graphics, and it gets my a dual screen set up with 1080p on both screens (that's something I want to keep at any cost).

So here are some facts you need to know before helping me, I'm from Venezuela, this country is on a really poor economic condition, you can't get $ legally since the government control them, so the black market exchange-rate is crazy. (minimum wage is 25k bolivares a month and 100 bucks are worth like 330k bolivares) So It's really hard to get some of those green bills.

My budget is really small, I can scrap around and get 125$-130$ (however if I can invest as little as possible that would be sweet). As you can see I plan on keeping this GPU for as long as I can, since i'ts so hard to get them, so I don't want to mess things up and later repent myself.

I have seen some GPU's online but I haven't decided yet, (I really want to be sure). This one is the cheapest one I could find:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131707

It has 4gb Gddr5 ram and 256bit Mem Interface

This other one:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125897&cm_re=rx_460-_-14-125-897-_-Product

It has 4gb gddr6 ram but it's 128bit..

So, I'm kind of stuck there, I don't really know what to choose. I don't really have a preference between Radeon or Nvidia, or any manufacturer I just want to get the best I can afford.

My current specs (that you guys helped me build) are the following:
-Mobo: Asus M5 A97 R 2.0
-Cpu: AMD phenom II x2 560
-GPU: XFX Radeon HD 4870 1gb ddr5 256bit
-PSU: Thermaltake 500w Bronze

TL-DR: Help me choose the best GPU similar to the one I have already (XFX Radeon HD 4870 1gb ddr5 256bit) with a budget of 125$ tops, the lower the better.

Thank you a lot for you help I really appreciate it.Try not to judge me, I'm doing all I can to update a little, one step at the time.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125916&cm_re=1050_ti-_-14-125-916-_-Product I understand that is at the top of your budget. However you do need this card to last for a loooong-bleep time. I'd want the most recent and powerful GFX card and the 1050ti is the clear winner when comparing those three cards. At its price and your situation it better be. That's what I would buy if I were in your situation.

The 370 is basically the Radeon HD 7850 with a new name, and more memory. The performance between the 370 and 460 is close enough that I'd take the 460 out of those two, due to being newer, newer features, and using less power. The 128 bit/256 bit thing doesn't really impact your choice here.

Keep in mind that you have a dual core CPU, and that will impact performance on some games. Even if you bought a faster card you wouldn't necessarily see greater performance in some games.

Would this GPU allow me to run my dual screen set up on 1080p? both screens are dvi. Is it going to really boost my gaming performance despise being a 128bit gpu?

Thanks for your answer, I checked again and the CPU is 4 cores, its a phenom II x4 955, I had the wrong box in my hand. I have read on previous posts that 256-bit Gpu's are twice as fast as 128bit ones I don't mind having an older one if it's going to have a better performance overall.

It will work fine for dual screens and mid-level 1080p gaming depending on in game settings. For a bit of a preview you can go here https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=955+1050Ti . If you are talking about dual-screen gaming then my answer would be no. Dual screen 1080p gaming is akin to 4K gaming and this is not a high end card nor can one expect it to perform like one. For older titles at lower settings? Possibly.

While the 256bit cards do have more memory bandwidth , that is but a small part of the bigger picture. Check out the memory clocks on each card. You are also dealing with older and less efficient cards vs a more powerful and recent release. Without a doubt the 1050ti will have better overall performance.

Is it going to really boost my gaming performance despite being a 128bit gpu? Yes.

Well I mean just having 2 screens on 1080, you see, I not a hardcore gamer, I use my pc for work and i need a bigger desktop and the 2 screens, the games, well I just want to be able to play some new ones with high or medium graphics (on one screen) that would suffice my needs.

So overall what i'm understanding is this, get the 1050Ti (if my budget allows it) second option the RX460? Feel free to add new Gpu to the discussion if they adapt to my budget.

Thank all for your help.

Make your budget allow it. You make the choice. No, you can't make money grow on trees. You need to have this card in 3-5 years from now. Get the most powerful one... There have been times when life(I am remembering one time in particular) threw me one heck of a curveball. A friend of mine told me what I should do. I suggested something else. Basically telling life **** ***. You ain't the boss of me(regardless of the corn and cheese). I made a completely unexpected choice that could have turned out VERY bad. I had a choice between losing contact with someone or having something we all need every day. Rock and a hard place. Very hard.

I understand and I really appreciate your help, now, how about that same GPU, GTX 1050 but with 2gb ?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137057&cm_re=GeForce_GTX_1050-_-14-137-057-_-Product

With the 20$ rebate card it gets to 99.99$, the other 4gb one is 135$ (125$ with 10$ rebate) is the 4gb one really worth the 25$, keep in mind that 25$ is almost 4 months of work for any mortal here on Venezuela.

No. You want multiple monitors so VRAM will be important with that much real estate. Cut it in half? No thank you. I understood what you said about how you use those monitors.

4 months of an investment for over 36 months of gaming and other stuff? Yes please. The return justifies the investment(read honorable sacrifice).

Ok, so you I will go for the 1050 Ti, I will stop eating and partying and cut a lot of other stuffs to make it happen hahaha, One last question, is my PSU going to be enough to power that new GPU? the previous GPU eats more watts than this one i think.

Quite easily. It only requires a 300W PSU.
