I recently upgraded my GPU to a GTX 1060 3gb. I was under the impression that with max setting on Overwatch I would get around 120 FPS, but I am currently only getting 70 FPS. I don't really care because it is over 60 but I am just worried about the optimization and performance with other games. Is this supposed to be this way, or is something wrong?

P.S. I haven't installed any drivers for my card and unless I need to I don't really plan on.

Thanks

There are a few things that could be the problem here. First update your drivers.

Second, the game has a FPS limit setting. By default it is set to limit your FPS based on your display. When I used to have a 60Hz monitor it would limit my FPS to exactly 70 with Vsync off.

I am pretty confident that this is why you are getting 70 FPS. If you want to see higher FPS you need to turn off the FPS limit setting.

Lastly, if you use the "epic" preset the game will put the resolution scaling setting above 100%. I don't remember the exact number but I think mine was set to 140% by default. If you go into the advanced settings menu and change the render scaling to 100% you will get better performance.

Well there's your problem. There have been a number of drivers which have game optimisations such as overwatch.
Bad drivers = Bad card.
