So I turn my PC on today, the PC starts everything comes on, but the monitors are black and I can move the mouse around? Normally it would go to a screen but it's literally just black screens where I can move the mouse! Nothing else loads? What do I do? It was working perfectly fine the day before?? What has happened and any ideas on how to fix?!

Solution
Sounds like a failure of Sleep or Hibernate.

With the power on, pull the power from the computer (if a laptop, remove the battery first). Wait a minute, plug it in and power it back up. This should force it to "Repair" and then should boot up OK.

It's a desktop, when you say pull the power do you mean switch it of by the mains while it's on or just hold the button? Because I held the button to restart it a few times before starting the thread yet it still does the same thing, I went and left it for a while came back and it went into standby mode, I moved mouse screens came back on as black and yet I can still move mouse... What is happening! :(

... :) ...

Glad it worked... Disable Hibernate and set Sleep to 0 (zero/never)

Press Windows + X keys to open Power menu and select Command Prompt (Admin)
To enable the Hibernate, type command powercfg/h on.
To disable the Hibernate, type command powercfg/h off.
Reboot

I am having the same problem as him but I don't exactly know what you mean, do you mean just unplugging the power cable from the PSU or outlet and then putting it back in a minute later or do you mean something else. Any help is very appreciated because it is my first build and I'm kinda stressing out

Hey I have the exact same problem as you but I don't understand what it is you did exactly, like which cable did you pull out and where? Any help is really appreciated

the AC power where it plugs into the PSU on the back of the desktop tower case. If you have a laptop, remove the battery and unplug the power adapter.

Do this when it is up and running windows, it forces a repair cycle, most of the time.
