I'm looking for a camera to use with Skype, and I was very surprised to find out that web cameras aren't much more technically advanced. I don't consider e.g. the Logitech C930e to even have decent picture quality under good lighting conditions.
So I'm hoping the name web camera doesn't have you nailed down to only using this type of camera for streaming.
