Whenever I do an internet speed, it is always on the high 800mbs to 900mbs both upload and download. However some of my downloads are around the 78mbs to even 20mbs, even youtube at times has had issues to load videos on higher resolutions.

Is there any reason why this would be? Currently I am using an ethernet connection connected directly to my motherboard and no other devices in the network.

I get what you mean, however there seems to be some obvious issue when even a 1080p video will struggle to load on something like youtube, don't you think?

there is an issue, i agree, based on the facts you have presented so far I am not convinced it is a network issue.
if it is a network issue,we have to determine if its the LAN or the WAN. you have no control over the WAN.

2 commands can help you figure out whats going on: ping and tracert.
but before we get into that lets try something simple first. do you have another device that you can use to test with?
also is this a problem with one single video on youtube or multiple videos? how about netflix or another streaming content provider?

I have tried the connection on an ipad and a ps4, however this has been through wifi and obviously the speeds for these are much much lower. Yet no issues with simple 1080p video playback on something like netflix.
Perhaps the issues are in the other end and not mine, but it is bloody frustrating to see a download speed of 22mbs when my test speeds are much higher then again my network knowledge is very limited.
